As of the last couple of days my Windows XP Pro SP2 installation refuses to do DNS lookups.
I don’t understand why.
The system is multiboot and if I boot Linux on it the DNS lookups work just fine, as they do on my laptop (Windows and Linux) as well as Anna’s laptop (Windows).
I have tried all sorts of things but to no avail.
Pinging the DNS-servers works fine, as well as tracert and even telnet on port 53.
I have tried to reinitialize the TCP/IP subsystem using both “netsh int ip reset” and XP TCP/IP Repair and still it doesn’t work.
I’m very close to reinstalling Windows now.
