As of the last couple of days my Windows XP Pro SP2 installation refuses to do DNS lookups.<\/p>\n
I don’t understand why.<\/p>\n
The system is multiboot and if I boot Linux on it the DNS lookups work just fine, as they do on my laptop (Windows and Linux) as well as Anna’s laptop (Windows).<\/p>\n
I have tried all sorts of things but to no avail.<\/p>\n
Pinging the DNS-servers works fine, as well as tracert and even telnet on port 53.<\/p>\n
I have tried to reinitialize the TCP\/IP subsystem using both “netsh int ip reset” and XP TCP\/IP Repair<\/a> and still it doesn’t work.<\/p>\n I’m very close to reinstalling Windows now.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" As of the last couple of days my Windows XP Pro SP2 installation refuses to do DNS lookups.
